Equipment

  • grater, grill

Ingredients

Burger Bites

  • 1/4 cup onion sweet, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced or pressed
  • 2 Tablespoons mint or oregano (your preference) fresh, chopped
  • 1 1/2 lb turkey lean, ground
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese crumbled

Simple Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cucumber peeled and shredded
  • 1 clove garlic minced or pressed
  • 2 Tablespoons dill fresh, chopped
  • 1 cup yogurt Greek-style, plain

Instructions

Burger Bites

  • Preheat grill or grill pan. (You can also bake these in a 375° F oven if needed.)
  • Place ground turkey in a bowl and using your hands, mix in onion, garlic, and mint or oregano. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Form ground turkey into small patties using a 1/4 cup measuring scoop.
  • Spray grill grates (or pan) with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place turkey patties on grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes on one side, flip and grill for another 2-3 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F.

Simple Tzatziki Sauce

  • Peel and grate the cucumber. Press in a towel until dry (you want to remove as much fluid as possible).
  • Place the yogurt to a medium bowl and stir in the cucumber, garlic, and dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve burger bites with tzatziki sauce topped with feta cheese and wrapped in lettuce leaf, if desired. 2-3 mini burgers equals one dinner serving; or 1 mini burger for an appetizer serving.
