I specialize in plant-based nutrition with a rebellious flair, promoting balanced living by embracing imperfection. My mission is to assist women (and men!) in finding peace with food and their weight, providing clarity amidst the confusion. Let’s embark on this journey to a healthier, happier you!

My Story + Approach

As a longtime promoter of healthy cooking and eating, my focus is on plant-based eating, with a rebellious twist – that I, and no one, needs to be perfect. 

In my late teens, I grappled with weight struggles, experimenting with every fad diet imaginable, even enduring my family’s favorite cabbage soup diet (a nod to my dad’s ongoing love for it ;)). As a lifelong athlete, my desire to excel in sports and feel confident in my skin fueled my journey. Choosing to study dietetics in college was a natural progression, although biochemistry proved a formidable challenge🙃. As a young adult, I discovered the balance of nourishing my body while enjoying life’s pleasures, ultimately finding joy in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Authenticity, kindness, humor, and gratitude are the cornerstones of my approach, as I stand alongside each client, drawing from my own experiences to guide them on their path to wellness.

I am deeply committed to meeting each client at their unique starting point and collaborating with them to develop a personalized meal planning strategy. With a strong emphasis on plant-based nutrition, I advocate for a balanced approach that embraces imperfection. In addition to plant-based eating, I specialize in weight management, healthy aging, diabetes care, and overall nutrition.

Running enthusiast alert! From conquering marathons in my younger days to relishing the thrill of a 5K or a 10-miler, running is my ultimate passion. Join me in embracing the joy of the run!

Confession time: I wasn’t always a dog person, but then I met my furry companion, and everything changed. My four-legged friend has stolen my heart and become my greatest love.

Exploring the great outdoors with my husband, our three incredible kids, and our furry companion, is one of my favorite pastimes.

For as long as I can remember, my favorite treat is a slice of vanilla birthday cake🎂with vanilla frosting.😋

Education

I aim to make health and wellness both accessible and relatable to all individuals seeking guidance on their journey to well-being.

My journey began at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. Since then, I’ve become a Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN), Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), accumulating nearly three decades of experience in weight management and diabetes care. My mission is to share my nutrition expertise through recipes, tips, consultations, and blogs, making health and wellness accessible and relatable.

More recently, I’ve expanded my qualifications to include Holistic Cannabis Practitioner. I’m dedicated to discussing the potential benefits of cannabis use for various nutrition and medical concerns, such as pain, anxiety, insomnia, autoimmune disorders, cancer, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). In collaboration with your prescribing physician, I offer guidance on consumption methods, dosage, and safety.

Utilizing mindfulness, curiosity, and empathy, I aim to establish trust and connection with my clients, sharing my straightforward approach to cooking and living healthily. I’m here to support others in their journey towards health, always with a touch of rebellion.
